Children with prominent ears, otoplasty ear pinning

This patient was bothered by his ears. He always felt like they stuck out. He is a wonderful patient and young man, but his self-confidence was not what it should have been.
Patients with prominent ears can often be the target for bullying and low self-esteem. Correcting the ears with otoplasty (ear pinning) can be immensely beneficial for self-esteem and self-confidence.
He is so happy with his results! He said that after the surgery, he had a little bruising for a few days, but had friends over 3 days after surgery. Due to his age, he was done in the operating. However, depending on the patient, age, and maturity, incisionless otoplasty can be performed in the operating room under anesthesia or in the office with numbing (with/without an anxiety pill).
Incisionless otoplasty involves carefully sculpting the ear cartilage and then placing stitches underneath the skin. There are no external cuts, no stitches to remove later on. Everything is under the surface. The procedure is minimally invasive, low risk, with high satisfaction.
The patient and his family are so happy with the results. He has a newfound confidence (and a swagger) that we loved to see in the office. Thank you so much for allowing us to share your photos!
