Acne Scar Subcision with Filler #7763

This patient was bothered by her acne scars, which did not improve as she got older. She was interested in many options. She underwent subcision with filler therapy. Dr. Carniol used topical numbing cream. Then using the filler, he was able to break up the scar, allowing it to "pop" up. The filler is then placed to create a soft layer, preventing the scar from forming back. As the filler dissolves, the body continues to make collagen, providing permanent improvement to the scars. Each treatment involves many different scars and treatments can be repeated every 2 weeks in order to maximize the number of scars for improvement. The filler, used here Teoxane RHA, will last about 15 months, allowing the body time to heal in the scars. This treatment gives beautiful results with minimal downtime.
