Last night I received the Fred Honold Community Service Award from HomeTowneTV. My thanks to HomeTowneTV, its executive board, and board members for bestowing this honor.
It continues to be an honor to serve our community. In addition to medical practice in the past two decades I have volunteered for multiple organizations.
It always seems that from these volunteer activities the rewards far out weigh the effort. Through these organizations I have been fortunate to meet numerous dedicated, talented, and inspiring individuals.
Volunteering is a major part of our culture. In 2008, in the United States, 61.8 million individuals gave 8 billion hours of service. Amazing and very impressive!
Winston Churchill said it best, “We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give.”
Again thank you, HomeTowneTV for this honor.
