Do you look angry when on your Zoom calls? Are those wrinkles near your eyes getting deeper?
Neuromodulators, such as Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Daxxify, are the most common procedure performed in the United States and worldwide. Dr Paul Carniol and Dr. Eric Carniol offer Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Daxxify in Summit as a popular solution to age lines. A quick in-office treatment can turn back the clock of aging and restore a more youthful appearance.
What is Botox in Summit?
Botox, just like Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau, is an effective treatment for fine lines and crow’s feet. By using a small amount of the botulinum toxin protein, wrinkles soften. The protein reduces the activity of the muscle, which then leads to smoother skin.
How long until Botox takes effect and how long does Botox last for?
Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport all take typically 3-5 days to kick in. The effect is gradual but most people will notice the full effect by 1 week. Jeuveau can even take effect within 24 hours. The effect of Botox lasts for 3-4 months. Some patients after repeat treatments even feel like the treatment lasts for 5 or 6 months!
How long does Daxxify last for?
Daxxify is the newest competitor in the neuromodulator space. The exciting thing about Daxxify is that it is FDA approved for lasting 6 months! This is an amazing breakthrough. How this duration is achieved is by using a higher dose of the product. Daxxify also seems to start acting faster. Dr. Paul Carniol noticed that his treatment started working within a few hours and Dr. Eric Carniol noticed his treatment starting to take effect the next day! Some patients may prefer a treatment that lasts 3 months, and Daxxify treatments can also be modified with a “more traditional” dose regimen so that the duration is 3-4 months. Carniol Plastic Surgery is one of only a few practices in NJ that was selected to be an early site of excellence for Daxxify.

View MoreWhere can Botox be used?
Botox can be used both cosmetically and for functional reasons. Cosmetically, Botox can be used for the frown lines between the eye (the glabella), the lines around your eyes (the crow’s feet), the forehead lines, to elevate your eyebrow, to fix a gummy smile, to correct dimpled chin, to soften neck bands, and to slim the face. Functionally, Botox can be used to decrease facial sweating, armpit sweating, headaches and migraines, and muscle spasms. Botox is amazing for patients who suffer from Bells Palsy and the synkinesis and spasms that can result.
Who performs Botox treatments?
All treatments are performed by Dr. Paul Carniol or Dr. Eric Carniol, both board certified to perform plastic surgery.
