Microneedling NJ

Microneedling Summit NJ

Microneedling has become an increasingly popular cosmetic procedure and we understand why. It is safe for all skin types and consistently delivers superior clinical results to stimulate cell renewal and promote collagen and elastin production. In turn, skin laxity, scars, fine lines and wrinkles can be greatly diminished with minimal downtime.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is a cosmetic treatment used for many different skin conditions. The treatment uses a pen-like device with very tiny sterile needles on the skin. When pressed on to the skin, it creates microscopic injuries. This stimulates collagen and rejuvenation. The tiny needles create channels to apply medications into the skin. This is tremendous for promoting healing and enhance the anti-aging benefits. Before the first microneedling treatment, all patients have a consultation with Dr. Carniol at our office in Summit New Jersey to discuss your goals. To schedule your consultation, click here or call our office 908-598-1400.

How Is Microneedling Performed?

The skin is first thoroughly cleaned of any makeup, creams, or ointments. Then, microdermabrasion cleans the skin further. Numbing cream is then applied to the skin and left in place for about 15 minutes. The treatment is then performed using the small device. This is totally painless. After the treatment, a healing mask is applied. Some patients will also have platelet-rich plasma or platelet-rich fibrin matrix, which can improve the results further.

Is Microneedling Combined With Other Treatments?

Yes! All patients have a microdermabrasion first, before the standard microneedling treatment. This removes the top layer of exfoliated skin. The microdermabrasion gives your skin an amazing glow!

Is Microneedling Great For Acne Scars and Surgical Scars?

Microneedling is an amazing treatment for scars. Surgical scars and acne scars involve multiple layers of the skin, not just the epidermis. Microneedling penetrates the dermal layer. This breaks up scars from the inside. Scars become softer. For acne scars, scars can become less deep. Dr. Carniol loves to use microneedling in addition to subcision with filler, microneedle-radiofrequency, and laser skin resurfacing. To take the next step in your scar journey, click here.

Can Microneedling Be Used For Stretch Marks After Children?

For stretch marks, Dr. Carniol combines microneedling, microneedle-radiofrequency, and platelet-rich fibrin matrix therapy. This allows the body to rejuvenate, providing lasting noticeable improvements. Dr. Carniol will look at the most important scars to you and prioritize your treatment based on your goals.
