This woman has a facial volume deficiency. Typically this develops slowly and involves multiple facial layers. Besides thinning of the skin, there is a decrease of soft tissue volume and changes in the underlying facial bones. All of these combine to significantly change the appearance of her face.

Rather than fillers she elected to have facial lipotransfer from her hips to her face. This was performed in the office using local anesthesia. After the lipotransfer she has a significant improvement and rejuvenation of her appearance.
